Around the time I began my writing adventure, I attended a lecture by famed mystery author Harlan Coben. He shared that when plotting a story, he concentrated the best while supine on the sofa with his eyes closed.
If it worked for Mr. Coben, I figured it would work for me. I returned home from the lecture and gave his method a test drive. I’d no sooner closed my eyes when my teenage son came into the den and deadpanned, “You do know you’re either too old or too young for napping?”
Without cracking an eye, I replied, “I’m not napping, I’m working.”
My darling boy snorted, “And if I said the same thing, I’d be grounded.”
Of course, I responded, “Keep it up, and we will just skip directly to your being grounded.”
My boy was no fool… he said, “Okay. Don’t let me interrupt you. Try not to work too hard.”
At the risk of having taken you all on a trip to Cleveland by way of Cairo, the point of the vignette is to let all my readers know that I have not been napping…I’ve been working. And today I am thrilled to announce that The Forecast is…Murder! The debut title in my new Sunny Knight Mystery Series just released.
And BTW: Keep your peepers peeled for the release date of The Forecast is…Monsoon! This is book two in the series. A book cover reveal and a blurb are coming soon to whet your appetite.

I find I plot the best right before I fall asleep.
