Susie Black's Holly Swimsuit Mysteries started with a hit, and the series just keeps getting better. Death by Surfboard had me laughing pretty much through the whole book. Holly is just hilarious. I love her attitude, her one-liners, and her fearless, indomitable spirit. The more I get to know her and her friends, the more I enjoy them.
The whodunit aspect is excellent! This writer is very creative when it comes to the demise of unpopular characters. Every time I thought I knew for sure who'd done what, she'd switched things up on me and I had to rethink my assumptions.
Despite all the laughs and a very good mystery, the character of Holly is the driving force of these books. She will make you laugh. She will make you cheer. She will make you want to hug her.
I can hardly wait for the next in the series. FIVE STARS!
