Harriet nodded. “The detective made it clear the search encompassed the entire building. David’s office is no exception.”
I blew out my cheeks. “Bet he made one heck of a fuss. It’s a wonder she didn’t arrest him.”
Harriet shuddered. “It came perilously close to happening. I pushed David, kicking and yelling into Harvey’s office. I told Harvey to bar the door if necessary, but not to let David out or the detective might cuff him to a chair.”
