The latest copy of the West Coast Apparel News lay spread out across the Yentas’ table in the mart lobby location of A JOLT of Java. The front-page boldface headline above the fold screamed: “Super Sleuth Schlivnik Solves Slaying!” The Yentas saluted me with their coffee cups. Sonia scooped the newspaper off the table and waved it back and forth like a black-and-white checkered victory flag at the finish line of a car race. “Congratulations, Triple S, you’ve done it again.”
I parroted. “Triple S?”
Sonia laid the paper in front of me and tapped the headline with a teaspoon. “See? Super Sleuth Schlivnik. Triple S. That’s you.”
