Today is a special day for me and my amazing writing adventure. The debut release date of Death by Sample Size on June 9, 2021, marked the day that my dreams of becoming a published author came true.
I’m not ashamed to admit that I cried the first time I saw my book on Amazon, won my first award, or received my first five-star review. And five years later, with nine published works to my credit, I still get a thrill seeing my books listed on every retail site. I still get goosebumps when a reader reaches out to say they stayed up all night reading one of my books because they just had to know what happened next.
One thing I’ve learned is that words are the most powerful tool. They have brought some readers to tears, others to laugh out loud, and still others to consider listening to a voice besides the one inside their heads.
Writing is a humbling, daunting, at times frustrating, and lonely road to travel on. But one that piques curiosity to see how it all will turn out, that propels me to type the next word.
